The Leominster School Department is now recruiting for the following position:

 

Academic Tutor

 

 

Job Summary:

Leominster Center for Excellence Innovation High School is seeking a dedicated professional to become part of a caring and committed staff. LCE is an innovation school nested within the Leominster High School campus.  Our school uses an advisory structure with classes of 12-15 students.  All students are expected to engage in learning through internships in a field of interest to them 2 days per week and bring that learning back to the classroom to add depth, breadth, and relevance to their classroom learning experiences. 

 

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in the review, development, and implementation of IEPs, 504s, and other educational plans, including data collection and analysis.
  • Ensure students receive appropriate scaffolding, accommodations, modifications, and other supports.
  • Work with students to develop skills, such as organizational and time management abilities, and effective study habits
  • Effectively collaborate with administration, teachers, special education, and other school personnel to facilitate the daily operations of the school.
  • Maintain records as required
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the field and contribute to a positive and safe school culture
  • Maintain a kind and caring demeanor, and a positive attitude while maintaining and reinforcing standards for behavior and academic performance.
  • Be adaptable and able to work effectively and calmly in a dynamic environment.
  • Take initiative to proactively problem-solve and share ideas
  • Prioritize the needs of the students and the best interest of the whole-school.
  • Seek and effectively respond to coaching, evaluation, and constructive criticism.

Qualifications:

Four Year Degree preferred. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
